Extension Gunners could move their home games from the ‘unplayable’ Lobatse Town Council Stadium to the National Stadium. The team returned to winning ways over the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Notwane in a Debswana First Division South league tie played at the National Stadium on Saturday evening.

This was Gunners’ second home game played at the National Stadium this season. But they were expected to use the recently refurbished Lobatse Town Council Stadium for all their home games. Gunners’ assistant coach, Stanley Mwaanga hinted that the Gaborone stadium could be the team’s base for this season following the weekend win.

“As you can see, Gunners is a well supported team. If we play in Gaborone it is an advantage for us and also playing in this ground. So that ground in Lobatse, that is not a football pitch, this is the pitch, you just saw the football that we played on this pitch,” said Mwaanga after the game. He further said the National Stadium is best suited for the type of football his side wants to play. It was a rather lousy first half but Gunners had better chances compared to their opponents.
