Gaborone United (GU) head into the weekend knowing that one more win will seal the 2025-2026 FNB Premiership title, but standing in their way is a TAFIC side with everything still to play for. The Reds travel to the country’s second city for the game scheduled for Francistown City Council Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3:30pm) needing just three points to mathematically secure back-to-back league titles.

After a dominant campaign, the equation is now simple: to secure a win against TAFIC and keep the trophy in Gaborone. The numbers underline GU’s control of the title race. They sit comfortably at the top of the table with over 60 points from 26 games, boasting one of the league’s best attacking and defensive records.

Their recent form has been equally convincing, with five straight wins in their last five matches, a run that has effectively shut the door on chasing teams.
