The 2025-2026 FNB Premiership awards produced a night full of surprises and drama on Wednesday evening, with some of the biggest talking points coming from the league’s top performers.

Whilst Gaborone United (GU) midfielder Karabo Phiri walked away with three awards on the night, he was surprisingly overlooked for the coveted Player of the Season accolade, which instead went to his teammate, Mpho Kgaswane.

Phiri enjoyed a memorable evening after scooping the Player’s Player of the Season, Supporter’s Player of the Season, and Midfielder of the Season awards, cementing his status as one of the league’s standout performers this season.
