FRANCISTOWN: The Zebras weekend tie against the Stallions of Burkina Faso attracted nearly 25,000 spectators, a new attendance record. A member of the game’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Jonas Ikgopoleng said although they have not reconciled the figures, at least 25,000 fans paid to watch the game.

The new Francistown stadium has a capacity of 26,500 while the Zebras have previously played at the National and Lobatse stadiums which have a comparatively lower capacity.

“At the moment we do not have audited figures but attendance was around 25,000,” Ikgopoleng said in an interview yesterday.
