TAFIC deny Changwe exit

FRANCISTOWN: TAFIC officials have denied reports that their mentor Dominic Changwe has written a letter of resignation.

Sources close to both the coach and the team informed Mmegi Sport that the long-suffering Changwe has written the letter to the club management demanding to be released from his contract. The sources, however, are adamant that the club's stance is a pure public relations exercise. The soft-spoken coach is contracted to the club until the end of the 2013/2014 season.
Changwe is reported to have delivered a letter to the club management early this week demanding to be released from his contract."As far as I know we have not received a letter from Changwe. He is still our coach but if he delivers such a letter the club will make an official announcement," TAFIC welfare manager Master Mbulawa, who is also one of the shareholders at the club, said yesterday in a telephone interview.

The Zambian born tactician is said to be unhappy at the club because of unpaid wages. Since coming at the club more than a year ago, the coach has been mostly surviving on hand outs from well wishers. There has been speculation regarding Changwe's future at the club and the sources maintained that the youthful gaffer wanted out and was contemplating returning to Zambia if he would not get a suitable offer locally.Changwe has been linked with several clubs in the past weeks among them newly promoted side Orapa United. The coach has always refused to be drawn into discussing his association with the TAFIC leadership choosing to refer the media to the executive committee. He was not available for comment when this publication sought to establish if he has indeed written a letter to TAFIC demanding to be let go. His phone was not available.
Meanwhile, technical team members at TAFIC's cross town rivals ECCO City Greens are said to have decided against releasing Batisani Josiah, Mmoloki Kafuko and Joseph Joseph as earlier envisaged.
