Burglars attempted to break into the Botswana Premier League chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi’s house yesterday morning. This comes just a week after the Premier League offices were broken into although nothing was stolen.

Mamelodi said he was awoken by a loud noise at around 3am in his house as people attempted to break-in.

He said the burglars smashed the sitting room window, but were disturbed and fled.“I reported the matter to the police and I will wait for the outcome of the investigation. I will allow investigations to conclude first and see if I can consult relevant authorities about the situation,” Mamelodi said when asked whether he would seek protection.
