Jones spells doom on BRU plot

Former Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) president, Elijah Jones has told affiliates to forget owning a plot anytime soon. This despite the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) allocating the BRU a piece of land behind the National Stadium.

Giving his report during Saturday’s annual general meeting, Jones said the land issue was irrelevant as the union does not have title deed.

He said the union did not have funds to develop the plot. He said BRU was supposed to apply for the title deed from the Gaborone City Council but they failed. He said that means they cannot develop the plot.
