Township Rollers defender, Leutlwetse Tshireletso has retired from football following an injury that saw him miss more than 80% of last season. Tshireletso, who formed a solid combination with Oscar Ncenga at the heart of Rollers defence when he joined from BMC, will now join Rollers’ technical team.

“It is true he will not play again. The doctors have advised that his injury can never heal completely and therefore has to hang his boots. Apparently there is a gap in his knee and the doctors say that gap can never close,” Rollers spokesperson, Bafana Pheto said yesterday.

He said they had thought the injury had healed only for it to recur before they left for pre-season camp in Rustenburg in June. Tshireletso will now join head coach, Mark Harrison and Teenage Mpote on the bench as one of the assistant coaches.
