Five countries for COSSASA athletics competition

Five countries will battle out in the annual Confederation of School Sports Association (COSSASA) athletics competition hosted by Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) from today.

The two-day event will be held at the UB Stadium. It will feature hosts Botswana, defending champions South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland. Each country is expected to field 50 athletes.

Some of the big names that will be in action for Botswana are sprinters Bosekeng Golebaone (100m) and Leungo Mophako (200m) and high jumper Rebakaone Ralebelwana. BISA spokesperson Tapiwa Mokoka said the athletes have been impressive and they are expected to represent the country well. Some of them have represented the country in international competitions like the World Youth Championships.
