ECCO renamed Francistown City Greens

SELEBI-PHIKWE: ECCO City Greens will now be known as Francistown City Greens Sporting Club, a decision that was presented during the club launch on Friday at Adansonia Hotel in Francistown.

ECCO were originally called Francistown City Greens Sporting Club before being sponsored by Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), which led to them changing their name to ECCO to accommodate the sponsor.

City Greens public relations officer, Sylvester Patella said the change came after one of the resolutions taken at the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) in June, whereby the new committee employed a task force of three members to engage the supporters in a move that was aimed at changing the club’s name, logo, colours and slogan ahead of the new season.
