AP launches drive to boost visibility

The membership campaign forms part of the party’s broader strategy to consolidate its presence ahead of future political activities while revitalising structures that have become dormant over time. Speaking in an interview, AP deputy secretary-general Phemelo Kedumele said the initiative is intended not only to recruit new members but also to assess the state of the party’s structures across the country.
According to Kedumele, the AP currently has structures in all 61 constituencies. However, he acknowledged that some of them are no longer functioning effectively, making the membership drive a critical exercise for the party. He said that in each ward, they are targeting 500 members, but it depends on how big the ward is.
