FRANCISTOWN: Comets have secured a place in the finals of the BoFiNet softball league after finishing second in the northern region following their 9-2 win over Maun Deltas.

The Selebi-Phikwe side stormed to a win with a great opening in the first inning, scoring eight runs while their opponents could only register one.  The leaders increased their tally with another run in the second inning and Deltas also managed a run to make it 9-2.

Deltas change of game plan to slow-pitches saw the leaders struggle in the third and fourth innings. The game ended in the fifth inning with a run ahead rule.
