Choukas Title Chase Takes A Knock

FRANCISTOWN: Motlakase Power Dynamos pursuit for the Debswana First Division North title was dealt a body blow when they suffered an emphatic 2-0 defeat at the hands of revitalised TASC at the Francistown Sport Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Chouka stamped authority from the beginning but lost momentum after the quarter mark. In the opening 10 minutes, Motlakase created two half chances and failed to profit. First Thabo Wetshoemang found himself unmarked in front of the box but directed his powerful drive over the crossbar. Moments later, Omphemetse Bolofete redirected his free header inches from the upright.

In their first attack after 13 minutes, TASC’s Oratile Taunyane controlled with his chest in between the defenders to set himself up against the goalkeeper but sent his half volley wide. He made up for his miss three minutes later. Taunyane capitalised on a defender’s slip and drilled a shot to the bottom right corner.
