Chiefs Dominate be MOBILE Awards

National champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs ended the season with a bang when three of its players and coach scooped top awards at a ceremony at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on Saturday.

Elvis Meleka, Galabgwe Moyana and Kekaetswe Moloi together with coach, Madinda Ndlovu walked away with top honours in a glittering ceremony graced by several dignitaries. Meleka emerged as the biggest winner after being named the Player of the Season.He warded off challenges from Gaborone United (GU) midfielder, Alphonse Modisaotsile and Nico United's exciting player, Topo Piet. The Zimbabwean midfielder pocketed P50,000 in his second season in the local league. Meleka arrived at Chiefs at the beginning of last season together with defender, Arnold Chaka and fitted well at Magosi.Moyana scooped the Players' Player of the Season award after his sterling performances on the left of Chiefs' attack. His exploits have even caught the national team selectors this season.

He is seen as one of the key players for the Zebras in future. Moloi successfully defended his Green Boot award after finishing as the top goal scorer in the league. Ndlovu was named the Coach of the Season, beating David Bright of GU and Elijah Chikwanda of Nico United. The tactician guided Chiefs to their third league title this season.Nico United attacker, Piet did not leave empty handed after losing out on the Player of the Season award.He went home with the Supporters Player of the Season title. The winner is voted by the supporters through text messages. Piet has been a revelation for Majombolo this season and helped them finish second in the league.
