SEROWE: Central District councillors and staff attended a full council meeting clad in national colours last Friday to show support for the national soccer team.

The 174 councillors contributed a minimum of P50 each to thank the team for qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time. The collection came to P10,550 and was handed over to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) official, Tshepo Mphoeng.

Deputy council chairman, Power Moupi, said football is a unifying factor in the country and that they are very proud of the Zebras. "CDC will always be the first council to come up with such initiatives and other councils will follow," he added.
