The Botswana Premier League (BPL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with La Liga with the latter providing expertise as the BPL attempts to turn professional. Motlogelwa said La Liga is a well known institution and that the agreement is not only a milestone for Botswana but the entire region.

They have been in the game longer than us and have done extremely well,” he said. He said it is imperative that Botswana is open to learning and that a great opportunity like this one cannot be missed.
