Botswana impresses at Zone VI Games

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana swept the stakes in javelin (men) at the on-going Zone VI Games in Manzini, Swaziland.

Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) Marketing and Communication Officer, Modiri Ontitile, who is at the games, said Thatayaone Mmolawa, with compatriot Collin Lepotokisi and Boitshwarelo Sefo got silver and bronze respectively. In long jump, Titose Chilume of Botswana won silver with Karabo Buzwane getting bronze.

Gobe Takobana won the second gold for Botswana by breaking the games' 2.12m high jump record after clearing 2.20m. Compatriot, Mmilili Dube got silver by jumping 2.10m. Botswana's third gold of the day was won by Kefilwe Galeitsiwe in the 5, 000m. By press time yesterday, Botswana had won eight medals.
