Botswana Boxing Team Settles For Third Position

Despite an impressive display at the just-ended Zone IV Boxing Championships held in Gaborone, Team Botswana had to settle for third position level with Mozambique with nine medals.

The local boxers collected six gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the competition as South Africa and Angola are tied up in first position with 10 medals each. Team Botswana had nine boxers in the competition of which seven made it out of the 15 bouts. Of the seven, only Kobamelo Molatlhegi lost his lightfly bout to Zambian Patrick Chinyamba.

Team Botswana had won the most gold medals at the competition making them the highest performing team.
