Bantsi Retains CAA Presidency

Former Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) president, Moses Bantsi has retained his position as president of the Southern African athletics body over the weekend.

Bantsi was elected as the regional athletics leader for the second time in a row after winning the Saturday elections in South Africa.

Bantsi garnered 18 votes against 14 received by Zambia’s Elias Ng’andu Mpondela. His term runs from 2019 to 2023.  The vice president is Sarifa Fagilde of Mozambique. Athletics South Africa president, Aleck Skhosana is the new general secretary.
