The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) is striving to protect athletes from exploitation by race organisers, public relations officer, Ipolokeng Ramatshaba has said. He advised organisers to follow the association's procedures.

He said organisers should seek permission from the BAA and abide by the rules. The association reiterated its position after a recent race in which athletes were not given prizes contrary to what they were promised before the race.

He said that organisers of races must liaise with a BAA affiliated club in their region so that the association can be represented.
