League started without sponsorship

MABC TV promised the premier league committee (PLC) manna from heaven but failed to keep their promise. Teams are now facing uncertain future thanks to poor managerial know how by premier league committee (PLC). This is not the first time our elite league started without official sponsorship, it happened during the 2005/06 season when the deal with premier league and Mascom was signed mid season. PLC should know that our elite league is the flagship of our soccer not a spaza shop where unemployed customers can take credit, and there after paly a "dilly dialing" game when the have to pay.
Football nowadays is expensive to run, teams spend about P20 000 per game, clubs needs millions to sustain themselves over the year. Truly speaking without sponsor it is very difficult to run clubs especially community teams where some people use their family resources to sustain clubs. Out of desperation, PLC have taken a hasty decision by taking the offer from MABC, first, this is not an established company, they do not have a proper offices within Botswana and lastly their top management tried by all means to doge tricky questions during the press conference announcing their marriage with PLC. Personally I do not have a problem with MABC, their promises are mouth watering, and I was looking forward to their lunch. Now I have fear, I see the whole thing as a circus.
Honestly I believe PLC have made the biggest mistake of their life time, at least is what I think, I pray for them to prove me wrong. But I doubt that I will be wrong because now Kubara is no longer confident! I quote from gazette, asked when he thought he would be ready to start giving the premier league all the goodies promised, he said he would let everybody know when we are ready. I don't want to raise blood pressure for some people not knowing exactly when will be ready, end of quote. This shows the man is just playing with our emotions, we want to take our soccer note, not football, to the next level, premier league should terminate agreement with this embryonic TV company or is like Rowe contract which does not have exit clause?
That sounds like good news. But the report also warns that this may simply be because our digital economy is still young, not because we are safe. As more people shop, bank and pay online, criminals will follow. We Batswana do not need a report to tell us that danger is real. Many of us have heard of or fallen victim to KYC scams. A caller impersonates your bank or mobile money provider. They say they need to “verify” your account. They ask...
