Khama�s message of condolence

On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Botswana and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey to the bereaved families, the school and Kang Community, as well as all Batswana, my heartfelt condolences and sympathies. This is not only a loss to the affected families, but to the nation as a whole. As a young country, when we lose young lives in such numbers, we feel very strongly that we have been robbed of the future or the promise and potential from these young people.
Whilst this is a very tragic and unfortunate incident to befall us, it is always during such situations that we have shown resolve and resilience as Batswana through our value system of supporting each other during these difficult and trying times.
The recent disclosure by the IEC that 2,513 registrations have been turned down due to various irregularities should prompt all Batswana to meticulously review the voters' rolls and address concerns about rejected registrations.The disparities flagged by the IEC are troubling and emphasise the significance of rigorous voter registration processes.Out of the rejected registrations, 29 individuals were disqualified due to non-existent Omang...
