Relations between the local US embassy and the Botswana Government soured on Friday after the US embassy used Facebook to post a false alarm regarding the security situation in the government enclave and the US embassy surroundings.

The American embassy warned the public to keep away from the government enclave Friday saying there was a security situation that was unfolding there. The public were warned to avoid the government enclave until further notice.
