UDC To Revisit Ticket For Lerala/Maunatlala Constituency

A new war over which party challenges the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in the 2019 general elections for Lerala/Maunatlala constituency, formerly Tswapong North, is set to pit bitter coalition rivals against one another.

The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) will need a new candidate, after Setlhabelo Modukanele, recently retraced his steps back to the ruling party.

Modukanele, a retired government official, who had garnered 4,115 votes at the 2014 general elections as an independent candidate against the eventual winner, Prince Maele (6,356) of BDP, has traced his steps back to the BDP, only a year after joining the BMD.
