UB Freshers' Ball haunted by thugs again

The secretary general of the University of Botswana's Student Representative Council (UBSRC), Kgotso Kennekae, says cancelling the Freshers' Ball would not be appropriate.

Instead of cancelling the annual party to welcome first-year students, campus security - which is lax at UB even when the event is not going on - should be tightened.

"What is needed is cooperation among law enforcement agencies in order to tighten security," Kennekae said in an interview.  "UB security is not that tight, especially when it comes to SRC-driven events."
