Tsimako retires

Police commissioner Thebeyame Tsimako is retiring. He made the announcement on Friday at the closing ceremony of the 41st senior officers conference. Tsimako will leave office when his contract ends next month.

Tsimako took over from Edwin Batshu in 2007. The commissioner thanked members of the Botswana Police Service for the support they accorded him in the past and asked them to extend the same support to his successor. He also said the media have always been supportive to the police during his tenure in the office, and  hoped the good relations will continue.Tsimako said he couldn't tell the media his achievements as the commissioner, saying  members of the public are the best judges.
