FRANCISTOWN: Tonota village and surrounding areas have recorded seven cases related to gender-based violence (GBV) in 48 hours.

This was revealed by the Tonota police acting station commander, Assistant Superintendent Keogotsitse Rasina who raised concern over the alarming cases of GBV-related cases, stressing that interventions need to be made urgently.

He said that so far, they registered seven cases of common assaults by couples between Friday and Saturday. Rasina stated that the same fights resulted in physical harm and threats amongst the couples.
