A 21-year-old young man has been arrested following a hit and run incident in which a 39-year-old mother died on Saturday night in Thabala .
Serowe police station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng confirmed that the suspect who had fled the accident scene has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and fleeing the scene of accident. The suspect will soon appear before Serowe Magistrate's Court.
The young man was driving a Toyota March car belonging to a neighbour and he hit the victim who was in company of her seven-year-old son. The deceased and her son had just alighted another vehicle by the bus stop at Thabala village.
The young mother died on the scene but her son escaped the accident with minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital that night.
