Serowe to host three-day district trade show

This year's Serowe District Trade and Agricultural Show will be held from June 28-30 at the Serowe Showgrounds.

This will enable farmers, business community and the public will educate each other on various issues that affect development, Boyce Sekgoma, the show committee chairman and event coordinator, has told Mmegi.

The event will be held under the theme "Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change Through Improved Agricultural Activities and Trade Promotion." "This month is International Environmental Month because global warming is an international challenge that needs to be addressed at all levels," Sekgoma said. "We urge big industries and manufacturers to ensure that their products and services are environment-friendly so as to take care of our environment because it holds the future for our children." He disclosed that the community took the event from the government in 2010. "This show is organised by the community to promote independence and stop relying on the government for every little thing," he said. "There will be different businesspeople and various other stakeholders who will be showcasing their products."
