Divisions in the Kgatleng royal house were exposed last Saturday when two royal uncles, Kgosi Bana Sekai Linchwe and Kgosi Mothibe Linchwe, exchanged harsh words during a tempestuous kgotla meeting in Mochudi.

Sekai, the tribe's deputy paramount chief, told the multitudes that braved the chilly weather that the royal house is divided by what he termed the Ray Molomo cabal that wants to oust him.The 'cabal' is a group of 25 people consisting of among others former Cabinet Minister Ray Molomo, Monty Letshwiti, former Kgatleng West MP Rakwadi Modipane and retired journalist Kwapeng Modikwe.

Sekai alleged that the Molomo cabal is hell-bent on dividing Kgatleng. He accused the group of negotiating without permission with the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Peter Siele for Sekai and Kgosi Segale Linchwe to be allowed to resume their duties at the kgotla. Sekai and Segale are currently under suspension pending the conclusion of the criminal cases they face.
