Member of Parliament for Kgatleng East Isaac Mabiletsa has termed as anti-Christian, President Ian Khama's action in denying water to the Basarwa of the Central Kgalagadi Game Reserve (CKGR).

He vowed that if government were to connect water for the CKGR residents today, he would not hesitate to join the ruling party.

When delivering the State of the Nation Address two weeks ago, Khama quoted from the Book of Romans Chapter 12 verses 19 to 21; "Beloved do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written. Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord, Therefore: if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, overcome evil with good," the verse reads. Mabiletsa pleaded with Khama to give water to CKGR residents and even offered to join the BDP if that were to happen. "All they need is a drink - water Mr president. Deliver water to the people," Mabiletsa said.
