Police sound alarm over flooding threat at Matebele–Oodi bridge

Broadhurst Police have sounded an alarm over possible flooding at the Matebele and Oodi bridge, warning motorists and residents to stay away as water levels continue to rise.

The bridge has been temporarily closed as large volumes of water continue to flow from the northern side, raising fears of severe overflooding.

Broadhurst Traffic Officer, Assistant Superintendent Matlhogonolo Baraedi, said residents and motorists should avoid the direct route between Matebele and Oodi villages and instead use the Phakalane detour.
