Former UB lecturer has a case to answer

As the State concluded its case against a former University of Botswana (UB) lecturer, Brothers Malema, accused of sexually violating a student, Extension II Chief Magistrate, Kamogelo Mmesi has ruled that the accused has a case to answer.

This morning his lawyer, Busang Manewe updated the court on the approach of their defence. “This matter is scheduled for status hearing today and we would like to update the court that the defence will call only one witness,” Manewe said.

Manewe told the court that the defence will only call one witness being the accused. “We will call one witness being the accused person with sworn evidence,” he said.
