Another Honda Fit theft in Mogoditshane has prompted a police investigation after the vehicle was stolen from a local carwash on Friday afternoon.

According to the police, the vehicle owner had left his car at the car wash to be cleaned when an unknown man allegedly arrived, claiming that the owner had sent him to collect it. The suspect reportedly told the carwash attendants that the vehicle was urgently needed to assist others who had experienced a breakdown. Believing the suspect's story, the attendants handed over the vehicle.

Confirming the incident, No.12 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, said the real owner only learnt about the theft when he later returned to collect his car. He immediately reported the matter to the police.
