Sepene Sebele who was reportedly murdered in cold-blood by her policeman boyfriend a week ago was buried in Tlokweng on Saturday after a funeral service at her family home in Ledumang, Gaborone.

The deceased was shot dead by the Special Support Group (SSG) officer who was in uniform last Monday in Ledumang. The officer was armed with his service rifle. After the murder, he drove away in the police vehicle he came with. It is understood that Sebele is the third woman to be killed by an SSG officer in a month.

Speaking at the funeral service, a grief- stricken deputy paramount chief of the Batlokwa, Michael Gaborone condemned domestic violence, questioning why men always shoot women.  He said it was hard to hear of a case where a woman has shot a man. He wondered why men are always abusing their partners and accused some radio stations of promoting domestic violence.
