Police in hot pursuit of shooting suspect

Police are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded a woman near the headquarters of the Ministry of Health on Friday.

The suspect is believed to be from Ramotswa while the victim is from Kubung in the Kweneng District. Police spokesman, Dipheko Motube, said the 31-year-old woman was shot on her way to work.“We have tried and are still looking for him at every place possible,” Motube said in an interview with Mmegi yesterday. The suspect is believed to an army officer but Motube declined to confirm this.

“I cannot say that for now, all I can say is we have even looked for him at his work place, the police intelligence is on the ground.” Motube said the woman was recovering at Princess Marina Hospital. She suffered gun shot wounds on her upper body. Some witnesses, who preferred anonymity, said the assailant fired two shots.
