LOBATSE: Lobatse Police Station commander, Photshanyana Mogatsaseno’s daughter was granted bail in a case in which she is charged with five counts, including assaulting a police officer on duty. The 28-year-old Matlhogonolo Mogatsaseno, 28 is also accused of stealing a police vehicle keys and insulting a police officer on duty.

The state alleges that the Lotlaamoreng Junior Secondary School teacher, on or about April 7 in Goodhope, assaulted one Johnson Kegametswe, a police officer who was on duty and she subsequently hurled insults at him over allegations of ‘disrespecting her car’. On the third count, the state alleges that shortly after the incident, Mogatsaseno stole the keys of a Ford Ranger, which is a government vehicle used by Goodhope police. One Mothibi Sebego, a traffic police officer, also allegedly fell victim on the fateful day after the accused allegedly assaulted the complainant before proceeding to insult him in a bid to anger him.

The prosecution counsel, Lizibo Emang said the state did not object granting the accused a conditional bail looking at the fact that the offence emanates from several months ago. He however, pleaded with the court to set conditions that will deter the accused from interfering with witnesses.
