Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) nominees were humiliated at the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) congress’ executive committee elections over the weekend as they had no backing from fellow unions for the all the top posts they were eyeing. The result is for the first time there is no single BOPEU representative in the BOFEPUSO Executive Committee.

The BOPEU vice president Sikalame Seitiso   was nominated by his union for the position of the federation president but the other four affiliates of BOFEPUSU did not second his nomination.

The other BOFEPUSU members are Botswana Land Board and Local Authorities and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU), Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU), Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) and National Amalgmated Local and Central Government and Parastatal Workers Union (NALCGPWU).
