Murder convict appeals 'lengthy' sentence

A murder convict has appealed his 20-year jail term saying that the imprisonment is unreasonably long. Through attorney Joram Matomela, Moesi Joseph, 26, argued at the Court of Appeal that the jail term is unreasonable and that the trial court did not give any reason why it gave him 20 years.

Joseph, who has already served one year of his prison term imposed by Francistown High Court, was convicted on a single count of murder of his then girlfriend, Gaone Tante.
