Ministers start phone calls with the public

In what is a rare development in Africa, Cabinet Ministers have put aside at least one hour of their time to taking phone calls from the public in an effort to reach out to them.

The ministers phone-in initiative comes hardly two weeks after President Ian Khama promised concerned residents while addressing a Kgotla meeting around the country, that he will enable Batswana to call the ministers directly about their concerns.

The schedules, indiucating when the various Ministers can be phoned, have been released by the Office of the President
