SEROWE: A 22-year-old man allegedly killed his girlfriend then tried and failed to commit suicide, in an incident on the evening of New Year’s Eve.
Police believe the suspect used a blunt object to strike the deceased on the head.
The man was found unconscious after collapsing during an attempt to hang himself. He is suspected of having killed his 23-year old girlfriend prior to the suicide attempt.
Serowe Police station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng, told MmegiOnline that the motive for the crime is still unknown.
“The suspect, who hails from Thabala village, was found unconscious in a nearby field. “After receiving treatment at the hospital, he was taken into custody where he currently is,” he said.
