Lesotho water deal still months away

The feasibility study to determine whether Botswana can feasibly draw water from Lesotho’s highlands will take eight more months to complete, Mmegi has learnt.

The study was expected to take a year after Botswana, South Africa and Lesotho signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year in March.

The research was to determine the possibility of water transfer from the Lesotho highlands to Botswana, which has persistently suffered unsatisfactory rains in recent years.
