MAUN: President Ian Khama comes across as a person who deeply loathes the private media and will use every opportunity to engage in a verbal onslaught targeting local private media journalists.

In fact to say that Khama was reiterating the government's recent hard stance against the local private media will not be an understatement. In his lengthy address to the party faithful, Khama described the local media as unpatriotic and said that it was dominated by greedy individuals who want to lead the people astray. Khama also believes that local private media houses are dominated by below average thinking journalists."These people are shallow in their reasoning and do not contribute anything that is good to the society.
