Khama honours pioneers

President Ian Khama will at the 50th Independence Day celebrations honour the pioneers of Botswana’s development that include former presidents, first ladies, parliamentarians, cabinet members and dikgosi.

The golden jubilee awards nominees from the first Cabinet according to the Government Gazette are the first president of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama, his successors, Sir Ketumile Masire and Festus Mogae.

Also on the honour roll are Moutlakgola Nwako, Tsheko Tsheko, David Morgan, Amos Dambe, Archeleus Tsoebebe and Benjamin Thema.
