Following the news that Jaqueline Tebogo Khama, the firstborn to the late Sir Seretse Khama and Lady Ruth Khama, died at age 72, some of her family will mourn her death while in exile.

Khama’s younger brother and former president, Ian Khama, who is currently in a self-imposed exile in South Africa announced her passing earlier today but did not share details about the cause of death and funeral arrangements.

“It is with regret that I have to announce the passing away of our sister Jaqueline Tebogo, the firstborn to the late Sir Seretse Khama and Lady Ruth Khama. She departs leaving her two other brothers Tshekedi and Anthony, her two sons Dale and Marcus as well as her nephews, niece and grandchildren,” Ian posted on his Facebook page. The former president, who was scheduled to visit Monaco today with his younger brother and Serowe West legislator, Tshekedi Khama and return on May 30, has released no word on any change of plans as to whether they will cancel the trip.
