Khama backs Boko's presidency

In an exclusive interview with Mmegi reporter Sharon Mathala, former President Ian Khama has expressed his confidence in the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) president Duma Boko.

He further said his family is now free to come back to Botswana.

Khama further said he is in Gaborone and will meet with the President-Elect later this afternoon.

“I am in Gaborone and plan to meet with President Boko later after his swearing in. You see Boko and I have always had a cordial relationship, of course we had political differences but it has always been cordial and respectful.”

He added that he always known that Masisi would be a "one' term president'.
