Jwaneng mayor pledges support to JCI

JWANENG: The mayor, Tsietsi Oodira-Kwenje has pledged to support Junior Chambers International (JCI) to curb social ills in Jwaneng.

Speaking when JCI international vice president, Itai Manyere paid a courtesy call on him, the mayor said his major concern is youth empowerment.

He said youth issues are his main priority and passion hence he will support the organisation. He admitted that some of the main youth challenges in Jwaneng are unemployment and HIV/AIDS. He called on the JCI to partner with relevant stakeholders to make an impact in the mining town. JCI is a transnational organisation led by the youth who have the spirit of volunteerism and want to live a mark in the community that they live in.
