Judge absolves attorney Molatlhegi in land dispute

Molatlhegi, who was accused of having transferred a plot in Block 8, Gaborone to a buyer without the consent of the owner, was absolved from the dispute together with two other defendants in the matter.
The Gaborone lawyer, having claimed ignorance to the deal and that his signature had been forged, applied for the absolution from the instance following closure of the plaintiff’s case.
While it is widely acknowledged that Khama holds the title of Kgosi, the government’s failure to properly gazette his recognition has raised serious concerns about adherence to legal procedures and the credibility of traditional leadership.
