Domkrag ministers on a roadshow

Troubled Botswana Democratic Party has announced on its Facebook page that it will use cabinet ministers and senior party officials in a door-to-door campaign to reassure its followers and potential members that all is well in the BDP.

The BDP's latest move comes as the breakaway party, the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) is riding the crest of a wave as droves join it, recruited or on their own volition, mainly from the BDP.

In an interview with Mmegi yesterday, the Chairman of the BDP's Culture and Publicity Committee, who is also the Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Shaw Kgathi, said the new campaign will start in Tonota North on July 3 where a by-election will be held soon after the death of the constituency's MP, Baledzi Gaolathe, last month.
