Outgoing Botswana Democratic Party chairman, Daniel Kwelagobe, yesterday endorsed Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi for the chairmanship of the party.

In an interview with The Monitor DK, said he concurs with the remarks of party elder Patrick Balopi who recently paved the way for Venson-Moitoi to contest for the party chairmanship.Balopi, who was gunning for the same seat was quoted in the local media as saying that he was giving the Education and Skills Development Minister the chance, because he believes in her capabilities as a party leader.

DK said, "Balopi was saying that as a party elder, I concur with him. I'm in agreement, what more do you want," he asked rhetorically. "I am still drinking tea here with Guma Moyo, he is wearing red", DK said, as he burst into laughter.DK also appears in the lobby list for Venson-Moitoi as an additional member. But he is also a close friend of Moyo's.
